Working at my parents' sushi restaurant everyday, I realized about 60 plates of sushi were being thrown away on a daily basis. I thought it was such a waste, so I first tried a discount event an hour before closing, but it didn't really work. So I tried a different way, I counted how much of each sushi got wasted daily and recorded it in a spreadsheet. Then I made a program that calculated how many of each sushi we should actually make. After following the new amounts, the food waste went down from 786L in February, to 725L in March, and 643L in April. Seeing the results, I decided to make it into an app so my parents can keep tracking the waste and know exactly how much sushi to prepare each day, saving food, money, and the environment.
